Do you get angry easily?
Do you get angry easily, if things are not going the way you want them to, because you can be a very self-centered person?
Do you get angry easily, because you want something, but someone says no?
Do you get angry easily because you want to do something, but someone says no?
Are you the type of person that gets angry easily, and when you do, you show no love toward others that love you?
Do you get angry easily when a person asks you to do something, and you don’t want to do it?
An easily angered person is usually very self-centered, the center of their own universe. They often want their own way. They sometimes care little about other people. Some may blow their stack, if you even look at them wrong. They are full of wrong thinking. They are not ready to meet Jesus.
Self centeredness is at the root of anger. It is often set on “I” want my own way to be done, not your way. You want something, but someone says no. You do not want to do something, but someone wants you to do it. We are to deny ourself and follow God. When you say a sinner’s prayer, do you not promise to follow Jesus? Regretfully, most really want to follow their own personal desires, and not God. Thus, there is a conflict, and conflict can result in getting angry. Thus, some get angry with those that love them and with God also—God forbid.
A person easily angered is not usually filled with God’s love. His love is centered on himself.
Pv 15:18-A WRATHFUL MAN STIRRETH UP STRIFE: BUT HE THAT IS SLOW TO ANGER APPEASETH STRIFE.
Hear God’s warning.
Mt 5:22-But I tell you that anyone who is angry with his brother (without a cause) will be subject to (or in danger of the) judgment (NIV).
If you get angry easily with your brothers and sisters in Christ, you are in danger of judgment.
Anger is sometimes set on disapproval with the way things are going.
It can be extremely hazzardous to you and even your health, if your anger is centered on disapproval with the way God is doing things.
Anger is often centered on “I”. It is centered on self. It is often centered on the fact that things are not going the way YOU want them to go, or things are not being done the way YOU want them to be done. An angry person is usually a very self-centered (me, myself and I) type of person. He or she wants their own way, and if they don’t get it, they get angry. Someone that is around an angry person often may themselves learn the angry person’s ways, and may become just like the angry person they don’t want to be around. Is there anyone that likes to be around a person that is angry all the time or that is easily angered? Is there anyone that likes to be around someone that often speaks against other people?
Is there anyone that likes to be around a person that often speaks against this or that situation? Isn’t it much more pleasant to be around people that are filled with love?
Your attitude needs to be centered on this: LORD, THY WILL BE DONE, not MY will.
Often anger is centered on “I disagree” with the way God is doing things.
You want to do this or that, but God says no
So you are angry.
God is trying to clear the way for you to learn His ways, but you want your own way.
Each of you should be praying the Lord’s prayer every day; it says THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.
Anger sometimes shows your disapproval with God, so you become a judge of God—God forbid.
You promise to follow God when you say a sinner’s prayer, but then you become a liar and will not follow Him. Because your personal, self-centered desires and thoughts are in conflict with what God wants for your life.
God wants you to become a son or daughter of God, but you want to stay the way you are: which is a son of the devil, so you become angry with the way God is doing things.
People may be praying for you, that you will become more like Christ, but your will is you do not want to be more like Christ.
Again, often your anger revolves around your own self-centeredness. And as a result people may think you are not a very nice person, but you may be so self-centered you could care less what others think. Self-centered people do not go to heaven, for the Bible commands us to deny ourself and follow Jesus. Anger is not love, and without love, you are nothing.
A person that continues to get angry easily is often a person that has not repented, and though they may think they are a Christian, they are not.
If you are a person that gets angry easily, then you need to repent, lest God get very angry with you, and then you may find all sorts of bad things begin to happen, as you have opened a door for Satan to attack you.
I Ki 11:9,10-And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.
2 Ki 17:18-Therefore the LORD was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight:
there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
Ps 2:12-Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way,
when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
Ps 7:11-God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
Pv 21:19-It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman.
Pv 22:24,25-Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go: Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul. Anger can be a snare to your soul. God is clearly showing that if you are around an angry person, you may become just like they are. An angry person is in danger of perishing, as anger can snare your soul. God is love. We may say that Satan is the author of anger. Do you follow God, or do you follow Satan?
Pv 29:22-An angry man stirreth up strife, and a furious man aboundeth in transgression (or sin).
Jonah 4:4-Then said the LORD, Doest thou well to be angry?
Mt 5:22-But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment.
Jn 7:23,24-If a man on the sabbath day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye angry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
Titus 1:7-For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry.
In other words, if you are a self-centered, easily-angered person, you are disqualified from holding certain positions in the church. You need to repent.
If you are a person that gets mad easily, you need to put off what the Bible calls the old man—the man of sin, the man of anger, mistrust, being short-tempered, easily irritated, strifeful and more. You need to put on the new man, which is after Christ.
Do you have fits of rage? Do you have fits of anger? Do you sow discord?
Pv 30:33-FOR AS CHURNING THE MILK PRODUCES BUTTER, AND AS TWISTING THE NOSE PRODUCES BLOOD, SO STIRRING UP ANGER PRODUCES STRIFE. (NIV)
Pv 29:22,23-AN ANGRY MAN STIRRETH UP STRIFE, AND A FURIOUS MAN ABOUNDETH IN TRANSGRESSION (or sin). A MAN’S PRIDE SHALL BRING HIM LOW: BUT HONOUR SHALL UPHOLD THE HUMBLE IN SPIRIT. Note, a person that stirs up strife—inside of him is an angry person.
It is written: Pv 22:24-25-MAKE NO FRIENDSHIP WITH AN ANGRY MAN; AND WITH A FURIOUS MAN THOU SHALT NOT GO: LEST THOU LEARN HIS WAYS, AND GET A SNARE TO THY SOUL.
An angry person needs to repent. Christians that are around an angry person need to be on their guard, lest they learn the angry person’s ways and get a snare to their soul, and they perish for eternity.
